Hi! I am an interdisciplinary artist and my artistic research has evolved from my former training as a painter and photographer to the use of new technologies and living systems in my works, eroding the classical categories that divide disciplines in the process of creation. This evolution in my work has pushed my activities into collaborative processes aiming to construct collectivelly new fictional narratives. No matter if the process ends into a bioart work or an hybrid sci-art object, the focus is to attempt to create new worlds.

While my background in Fine Arts offers me a conceptual and technical frame for creating images, my latest first hand experiences in Sciart coproduction have expanded my approach upon what an image is. On this respect there is an inspiring definition by a pioneer artist Harold Cohen who wrote AARON, a computer program in continual development since 1970 for the creation of images. As part of his theoretical work, Cohen pointed in his article «What is an image?» (1979) that an image is «a reference to some aspect of the world which contains within its own structure and in terms of its own structure a reference to the act of cognition which generated it», and with such definition he early widened the workframe for creating images mediated by technologies in cross disciplinary coproduction processes.

Art, Science and Technology are intrinsically related in my latest artistic productions and related researchs, using both traditional artistic techniques as well as new techologies, and are mostly resumed at this site at the WORKS and at the RESEARCH tabs, The STORIES tab shows related news to my practices.
